We love a little bit of crafting at H&G and to display our pins and needles, we thought there was no better way than using some of our very own cups and saucers. Now they seem to be quite popular at our workshops and with this in mind we thought we would share with you how we made them, trust me its quite straightforward so anybody can wow their friends with one of these.
You will need;
Fabric Square of your choice
Wadding
Embellishments ie. buttons, ric rac, ribbon in fact anything of your choosing.
Needle and thread
and of course a cup and saucer of your choosing.
Now Go Create;
Take the fabric and using your needle and thread sew a running stitch around all the edge of the fabric ensure that the fabric pattern is at the bottom,, place the wadding (about a handful) onto the fabric in the middle then take the cotton and pull gentle so the fabric becomed gathered into a ball shape.
Once you are happy with the sixe sew the ball end securely.
Take your glue gun and glue the inside of the cup andthen place the ball sewn end inside the cup.
Once the glue has dried then you can decorate with ribbon or pom poms around the teacup edge as shown in the picture, glue securely to the material.
Add buttons or in fact anything you like.
You can secure the saucer plate to teh cup if you like to create the completed look.
and there you have it your own beautiful vintage styled pin cushion glorious!
